shu umeura is the undisputed king of false eyelashes, elevating them to artforms. these beautiful new specimens are from the tokyo lash bar 2009 range inspired by nature forms. my favourites are the exquisitely dramatic marine tide lashes.....though at $79USD/pair they aren't cheap but just check out the intricate detailing and colours! these are nothing short of spectacularly dramatic but there's a strange part of me that thinks they could look good on anyone with the right attitude.

i first heard lisa hannigan when she sang with damien rice. they were a magical duo to say the least- but now they are both focusing on separate solo careers and i'm totally loving this upbeat tune!

a shoot of catherine mcneil by mario testino for Vmag. crazy but cool! i was just looking at that awesome photo with her with that massive Mozartesque wig on her head thinking......that is really very random!! but a lot of the time it's the most random things in life that are the most unexpectedly interesting. this is an amazing shoot that shows off cat's twist on classic and timeless beauty.

Balenciaga Fall 2009, from the creative genius brain of Nicolas Ghesquière. i love the fabrics and the liquid draping- everything looks so luxe and touchable!! love the pairing of the rich velvets with the lace bandeaus peeking through and the sheer polka dot stockings with lots of creamy perfect skin that doesnt look at all overexposed. you can just see that the quality of the fabrics and the craftmanship is amazingly fine and those colours and patterns cannot be replicated. often balenciaga's shows are very fashion-forward and futuristic but this season has a soft wearable look that seems to draw a lot from the past as well as the future.

a simple, comfy yet chic combination. i'm going to wear something similar tomorrow i think. maybe with a slightly shorter skirt cos i don't think i have mk's confidence or avant garde to pull off the long skirt thing quite yet. i am in total awe-envy of her jewellery/cocktail ring collection! it is truly amazing, she has a great eye. i'm going to try and get hold of a picture of that massive square green ring she wears- its one of my favourites.
