there is simply no doubt about the fact that alber elbaz is a creative genius. i'm a huge fan of wearing black, especially to cocktail events. while many people see this as the safe and boring option i'm intrigued and challenged by the possibilities of wearing black. i look for interesting and unexpected details, cuts or embellishments. i dare anyone to think that elbaz's black creations (lanvin fall 2008 RTW) are boring or ordinary. his use of texture, draping, tailoring, attention to details and ornate and beautiful embellishments are fresh, bold and sensual. any woman wearing one of his dresses should feel beautiful. i just have a feeling that his designs are magic, they are the kinds of clothes that makes the wearer feel they are the most charming, witty, sexy, beautiful best parts of themselves. i really do think that elbaz knows what women want, he has something for everyone and looks like a darling too. parisians wear so much black for a reason. it can suit pretty much everybody, it's so versatile. and it's never ever going to be passé.
